Investigative journalism

I am a postgraduate journalism student at City University, London. My curriculum requires its student to do a 10,000- 20,000 word thesis in a manner of investigative journalism. Therefore I choose Ecstasy as my subjuct. While collecting information I came across your book: E for Ecstasy which is very useful as a beginner's guide to understand E.
For my project, the purpose are threefold:
1. British Government has spent around £2m on the campagin to prevent teenagers taking E. Is it worth it? Is the campaign feasible? Will it work? Why launch it in the first place?
2. Is E dangerous as claimed by mainstream media? Is there substantial evidence to support this hypothesis yet?
3. I will try to prove about E's attribute in religious meditation
