Anti-depressants and E

I get many questions relating to whether its safe to take E with particular anti depressants.

I have asked a doctor if there is a way to tell which are safe and which to avoid. His answer is that those which contain MAOIs are physically dangerous with E due to the possibility of hypertensive crisis

But, he says, the real problem is not so much a chemical interaction but a mental one. Someone who uses antidepressants is probably emotionally unstable, and the mental effect of a psychoactive drug could make matters worse.

Independently, a survey showed that the SSRI type like Prozac cause no effect on the ecstasy experience for about half the users, but reduce the effect (from slightly to nothing) for the other half.
